The tale

Kael of Ashford descended into the Ashen Sepulchre. On floor 1 he failed to spot a trap and suffered 5 damage. He defeated 2 skeletons in his first fight. Dust sifted from above, then a slab of the vaulted roof gave way. Kael of Ashford caught a ghoul’s heavy blow on his guard and struck back at once. He descended to floor 2 and spotted a trap there. A pack of skeletons rattled down the passage, swords raised. Another group of skeletons marched out of a side tunnel. Kael of Ashford took the Iron Gatekeeper’s heavy blow on his guard. He brought the Iron Gatekeeper down and claimed the Hourglass of Grey Sand. On floor 3 a pale spirit drifted from a tomb and posed a riddle. Heavy steps rang as a bone knight patrolled. Kael of Ashford held his guard against the bone knight and answered at once. He cut the bone knight down. Two traps sprang on floor 3, each dealing 16 damage. He descended to floor 4. A lost spirit with a dim lantern whispered another riddle. Two more traps struck for 21 damage each. Kael of Ashford held his guard against the Candle Marshal’s heavy blow. The Candle Marshal fell, and Kael of Ashford took the Crown of Knotted Bone. After 32 minutes below, he turned back with 697 XP.
